This certificate is designed to introduce the significance of the halal industry and concept of Halal logistics and supply chain management as well as its importance to accommodate today’s market demand. It demonstrates the way how halal supply chain could be implemented particularly in the development of halal supply chain assurance management system including the quality assurance. This course also guides the participants in managing the halal supply chain practices.
The modules have been developed to qualify the participants to be nominated as the professionally competent person as a Halal Executive for logistics companies based on OIC/SMIIC 17 series of standards. A Halal Executive is especially needed to those logistics companies who would like to apply for a halal certification for their transport, warehouse and retail in meeting the need of the customers.
The Standard Metrology Institute for the Islamic Countries (SMIIC) is an institute developing necessary mechanisms for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries, aims at setting new standards in the Member States and eliminating technical barriers to trade and thus facilitating trade among themselves. SMIIC Member States have put their tremendous efforts and expertise in the SMIIC Technical Committee on Halal Supply Chain (TC 10) to prepare new OIC/SMIIC Standards in Halal supply chain management system.
